The 12 Fret design places the soundhole closer to the waist of the guitar and locates the bridge at the widest part of the lower bout, where it can most efficiently drive the top. This throwback design allows maximum power with minimum playing effort, while affording a loose, open quality to the sound. Based on our popular Slope D outline, the Slope D 12 Fret is an old-timey flatpicker’s delight, and equally friendly to fingerpickers. A great choice for country blues, and a wide variety of other traditional playing styles.
The deep, rich tone is enhanced by a red spruce "Adirondack" top and Indian rosewood sides and back. The DS-260 has a traditional slot head 12 fret design with Waverly tuners. The herringbone style rosette and matching herringbone backstrip sets it apart from the rest of our line. With Ivoroid body binding and a vintage style celluloid pickguard.
